Adding Data Segments to Ad Groups

Select the ad group you want to add an audience to, then click on Keywords and targeting criteria in the type list and choose Audience. Here, you can add multiple data segments to multiple ad groups at once. If you want to view all the ad groups, make sure to check the entire account in tree view mode. You can adjust the bid adjustments for the audiences added to the ad groups as per the instructions.

If you are adding data segments to the main search campaign that has already used keyword targeting, set the Audience targeting to Observation. You can change the targeting setting mode for multiple ad groups by selecting the ad groups in data view mode.

If you set the audience targeting to Observation, Google Ads may display ads to all users based on the selected keywords, applying the bid adjustments set for the data segment. When setting up a duplicate campaign containing data segments for search ads, set the targeting mode to Targeting. In this mode, Google will only show ads in this campaign to website visitors within the selected data segment.

Now, you can publish your changes and monitor the performance of the data segment compared to the performance of other components in the account. When reviewing, you need to adjust the bid levels to align with your target ROI.

If you want to adjust the bid modifiers for data segments, select the Audience tab under Keywords and targeting criteria in this offline Google ads management and editing tool. At this point, you can sort and filter for the bid lists you want to modify, select all the lists that should share the same bid adjustment, then enter the new bid adjustment and publish your changes.

Additionally, Google Ads Editor allows you to export list settings and make changes in Google Sheets, then copy and paste the content into Google Ads Editor. To do this, click on the Audience tab under Keywords and targeting criteria. Then, go to the toolbar, select Account, choose Export, and select Export current view. Save the file to export the list settings.

When you want to modify the bid adjustments for the list, use a spreadsheet application like Google Sheets. Then, copy the changes, including the Campaign, Ad Group, and Bid Modifier columns as a CSV file. Next, paste and apply the changes in this offline Google ads management and editing tool, then go to the Keywords and targeting criteria tab, select the Audience sub-tab, and choose Make multiple changes.

If you want to import bid adjustment changes, go to the toolbar, select Account, then choose Import, select From file, and import your file to complete the process.

Creating Shared Budgets in Editor

To share a budget across multiple campaigns, you can create a shared budget in Google Ads Editor. Start by locating the list table at the bottom left under the Management header.
